The Raiders made Henry Ruggs III the first wideout selected in the 2020 NFL Draft, and he has shown himself to be the complete package.

Over the past two NFL Draft, the Raiders franchise has held five first round picks, selections they got from trading away star players like Amari Cooper and Khalil Mack. Cooper set numerous rookie records during his time in the Silver and Black, and a fellow Alabama wideout may be ready to erase his name from the record books this season.

With the No. 12 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Raiders selected Alabama speedster Henry Ruggs III, which was a bit of a shock at the moment. Guys like Jerry Jeudy and CeeDee Lamb were picked by the experts to be the first wideout off the board, and with all three on the board, it was Ruggs who heard his name called.

Since then, Ruggs has turned heads with his incredible workouts, and his physical abilities as he slides into the top spot on the Raiders depth chart at wide receiver. At first, many felt he was just a burner to put on the outside and let it fly, but it is clear that he can be the complete package at wideout for this team for the foreseeable future.

For Ruggs, he will be the team’s Z this season, and the expectation is that he is going to dominate as a rookie.
