4 New faces who have impressed so far at Raiders training camp
Henry Ruggs III, Wide Receiver
Las Vegas selected Henry Ruggs III with the 12th pick of the first round of the 2020 NFL draft, based on the fact they were in desperate need of a true WR1. Ruggs is a great all around receiver with high level route running, some of the best hands in college football, and most impressively unteachable speed.
Many were worried that the Raiders reached for Ruggs and got over excited about his speed, but so far in training camp, it seems as if Ruggs is as good, or even better than advertised.
We have now seen that he can be the total package for the Raiders, as he has been burning defensive backs with his speed and making incredible one handed catches. Other Raiders have compared Ruggs running as appearing effortless, and like he was on skates, and Darren Waller recently stated he is “as fast as a roach when the lights come on.”
The addition of Ruggs brings a new dimension to this Raiders offense, and will open up the rest of the field for the other weapons in 2020.
