4 New faces who have impressed so far at Raiders training camp
Javin White, Linebacker
Not all those who have stood out so far in camp were a high draft pick, or even a big-time free agent signing. One guy who has gotten the attention from teammates and coaches alike is undrafted free agent Javin White, who could not only latch on with a roster spot, but be in the conversation of actually starting alongside Littleton and Nick Kwiatkoski.
White played all over the field during his time at UNLV, and like the franchise, he is from Oakland and made his way to Vegas. He has great coverage skills, and was recently described as an “animal” by Maxx Crosby, which is high praise coming from a guy who nearly won the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year honor last season.
Based on the talent we have seen early on, this is a Raiders team that is definitely trending in the right direction. This is a franchise that has seen the playoffs only once since the 2002 NFL season, so it had to be blown up and revamped, and Mayock has done a nice job doing just that over the past two offseasons.
