5 Pleasant surprises early on at Las Vegas Raiders training camp

Damon Arnette

Without even playing a down, Damon Arnette seems to have alleviated the criticism he received when the Raiders made him the 19th overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. Every video and report coming out of training camp points to Arnette winning the starting Right Cornerback spot across from Trayvon Mullen.

Each time a player or coach is interviewed about Arnette they always seem to bring up the word “fearless.” He certainly didn’t seemed to be phased with Henry Ruggs III speed recently in camp.

The video has made its rounds on social media even prompting legendary release master Chad Johnson to chime in, telling Arnette “give a raise” to whoever taught him his press technique. Arnette’s personality is also something that seems to be winning over the fanbase, and we will see if he can replicate these results on Sundays.

For all the talk of Arnette being a reach this past April, he has come into camp ready to work, and that is great news for a position group that has had their fair share of issues recently.
