Can the revamped Las Vegas Raiders defense dominate in 2020?
By Brad Weiss
The Las Vegas Raiders spent the offseason revamping the defensive side of the ball, and if it all comes together, could they actually dominate in 2020?
Looking at the 2020 Las Vegas Raiders, it is clear that the roster as whole is much-improved over last season. General manager Mike Mayock has utilized free agency and the NFL Draft to upgrade every position group over the past two offseasons, and the results could yield the team’s second playoff appearance since 2002.
While the new additions on offense are outstanding, with guys like Henry Ruggs III, Bryan Edwards, and Lynn Bowden Jr. expected to make key contributions as rookies, the defense is where we turn our attention to. Last season, the Raiders defense was downright atrocious at times, but all of that could change this Fall.
Linebacker was an issue, and that has been addressed, while the secondary, which has caused Raiders fans headaches for as long as I can remember, is also better. Up front, the Raiders brought in a dominant defensive tackle, and a solid edge rusher as they continues to add to position group that is young and talented.
With all the moves Mayock did to upgrade that side of the ball, could they actually dominate in 2020?
