Las Vegas Raiders 2020 draft class could produce four immediate starters

Damon Arnette, Cornerback

When the Las Vegas Raiders made Damon Arnette their second of two first round draft picks this past April, it was seen as a bit of a reach. Arnette was labeled as slow, which he has proved he is far from that, but the Raiders loved his toughness, and decided he was the best cornerback available at that time.

Since putting on the Silver and Black, Arnette has not only played with a chip on his shoulder, but is showing so much talent that he could crack the starting lineup immediately. His battle with Prince Amukamara is going to be must-watch action over the next few weeks, as the Raiders get ready for their Week 1 tilt against the Carolina Panthers.

Arnette has shown an incredible ability to cover, and his athleticism does not seem to be the issue that people made it out to be when he came out of Ohio State. The team liked him just as much as Jeffrey Okudah, who was taken No. 3 overall, and he has rewarded them by showing flashes of a guy who could start as a rookie.

Mullen is fully entrenched as the CB1 on this team, and if Mayock can get a starter opposite of him, that would be back-to-back drafts that he seen him revamp the team’s secondary. If he can translate what we have seen into live games on Sundays, this is a tremendous pick.
