Raiders camp: 3 things to be excited about, 3 things to be worried about

The Exciting, #1: The Rookies

For as good as the 2019 Raiders rookie class was, the 2020 class is getting more national buzz, including two wide receivers who will turn the position into a strength this season. Both Henry Ruggs III and Bryan Edwards have looked fantastic this summer, and in Edwards, the team may have gotten the steal of the draft.

Ruggs was the team’s No. 12 overall pick, and at pick No. 19, they made a bit of a surprise selection, taking Ohio State cornerback Damon Arnette. Since putting on the Silver and Black, Arnette has been much better than advertised, and has a real chance to win the starting job alongside Trayvon Mullen.

Outside of Arnette, Ruggs, and Edwards, the Raiders are going to get contributions from Amik Robertson and Tanner Muse, two players who are fighting their way into starting jobs. While John Simpson is likely a year away from being a full-time starter, he has the talent to take over for either Richie Incognito or Gabe Jackson down the line.

Overall, this is a class that could be special.
