Raiders camp: 3 things to be excited about, 3 things to be worried about

The Exciting, #3: The Depth

One of the biggest things I am most excited about with the 2020 Las Vegas Raiders is the depth that they have at some key positions. It was Mayock’s goal to upgrade every position this offseason, and by the look of some of these position groups, he not only brought in solid starters, but guys who can step in if needed as well.

For years the Raiders had guys on the roster that likely would not have another job somewhere else, but that is not the case in 2020. In fact, Gruden and his staff are going to have to cut some guys who will likely be picked up right away by other teams, and that is a good problem to have.

The wide receiver group in particular is going to be a tough one to cut down, as there are at least seven guys who can play, and play at a high level in the NFL. The offensive line has their five starters, but the depth of guys trying to make this team is also impressive, and that is another area to keep an eye on as we inch closer to Week 1.

Overall, this is one of the more deeper Raiders teams we have seen in quite some time, and that is going to be huge as the season wears on.
