Raiders camp: 3 things to be excited about, 3 things to be worried about

Worry #2: Tyrell Williams

Last season, Tyrell Williams stepped up in a big way early on for the Raiders, catching a touchdown in each of the team’s first four games. Injuries hampered him throughout the rest of the season, but overall, he was a welcome addition to a passing game in need of playmakers.

With the Raiders drafting both Henry Ruggs III and Bryan Edwards this offseason, a lot of pressure came off of Williams entering Year 2 with the franchise. He was expected to start at the “X” spot for the team in 2020, but after suffering a torn labrum, his status as a starter is a bit up in the air right now.

He is going to try and play through it, but an injury like that is something to be worried about no matter how you slice it. Sure, he has played through it before, but the Raiders are looking to make a serious run to the playoffs this season, and Carr needs all of his playmakers available to do so.

Edwards has looked like a special talent, so he can slide in and start if need be, but losing Williams is not something the Raiders can afford right now.
