Las Vegas Raiders new-look defense will get an early test against Carolina

The Panthers have one of the best all-purpose backs in the NFL in Christian McCaffrey, and the new-look Raiders offense will be tested by him in Week 1.
The Las Vegas Raiders will play their first game of the 2020 NFL season on the road, as they travel to play the Carolina Panthers. There have been some huge changes when it comes to the Panthers this offseason, as it is no longer Cam Newton’s team, as Teddy Bridgewater will take over under center.
Bridgewater has not been a full-time starting quarterback since his Minnesota days, but did have the luxury of backing up, and learning from Drew Brees in New Orleans the past two seasons. Before his knee injury, he was widely considered one of the best young quarterbacks in the league, so the expectation is he will come in and lead this team to wins.
His first chance will come against the Raiders, who spent the offseason revamping their defense, especially at linebacker and in the secondary. Bridgewater also comes into this game with arguably the best all-purpose back in the NFL in Christian McCaffrey, who will be an early season test for Paul Guenther’s new-look defense.
It is imperative that this young Raiders team gets out to a solid start in 2020, but the Panthers are not going to be an easy task at all.
