Las Vegas Raiders solidify linebacker position with Raekwon McMillan
How McMillan fits in with the Raiders
It no big surprise why the Raiders would send a fourth round draft pick in the 2021 NFL Draft to Miami for McMillan, and that is for him to come in and give the team depth at linebacker, and possibly challenge for a starting role. McMillan is a guy who has had good success at the NFL level already, racking up over 100 tackles in 2018 after missing his rookie season due to a torn ACL.
Last season, he appeared in 13 games, making 12 starts, and managed to rack up over 75 tackles. A product of Ohio State University, McMillan was a second round pick of the Dolphins in 2017, after a being an All-Big Ten player for the Buckeyes.
Coming out of college, McMillan was considered a top-five middle linebacker in the draft class, and has the talent to be disruptive in the run game. Sending a Day 3 picks away means the Raiders are going to give him a chance to start for this team, and with the opener in a little over two weeks, he needs to come in and get to work.
