Raiders 2021 7-round mock draft: Las Vegas bolsters both lines early
With his first ever selection as general manager of the Raiders franchise, Mike Mayock used the No. 4 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft on Clemson edge rusher Clelin Ferrell. The All-American struggled in his first season in the Silver and Black early on, as he battled through sickness and playing out of position, but he came on strong during the second half of the season.
In addition, fellow rookie edge rusher Maxx Crosby had a monster first season, racking up ten sacks in only ten starts. This offseason, the team brought in Carl Nassib in free agency, and is getting a better version of Arden Key than we have seen so far, but they still could tap a solid edge rusher class here in the sixth round.
It would not be a Mayock draft without a member of Clemson being selected, and K.J. Henry is the pick here at No. 170 overall. Henry is going to start with Xavier Thomas out sick, and he has the size, strength, and speed to dominate in the ACC. Remember, he was one of the best high school players in the country at one point, and he will get his shot with Thomas out in 2020.
