Should the Las Vegas Raiders pursue Leonard Fournette?

Raiders should at least test the waters for Fournette

The Jacksonville Jaguars are cleaning house, and it is no big secret that the organization has not been happy with Fournette in the past. In fact, they stated they could not get anything for him when trying to trade him, and will roll into the 2020 campaign with likely Chris Thompson as their lead back.

Fournette is coming off a 2019 season that saw him rush for over 1,100 yards, and that is only half the story. In addition to averaging 4.3 yards per carry, Fournette also was a menace in the passing game, hauling in 76 passes for over 500 receiving yards, which equated to almost five yards every time he touched the ball.

With Las Vegas, Fournette would have to play second-fiddle to Jacobs, but he would likely be happy with the change of scenery. This is the final year of his deal, so it would not be a long-term thing, though he may be looking to latch on to a place where he can be the featured back not only immediately, but moving forward.

The last time Raiders fans saw Fournette, he was a member of the Jaguars and beating them in the final game in Oakland. Fournette is obviously a talented running back, and was a featured back for the Jaguars, and with the Raiders, he would be that big back that Gruden loved having in Tyrone Wheatley back in his first go-around with the team.
