2020 Las Vegas Raiders 53-man roster projection after training camp

Specialists (3): Daniel Carlson, A.J. Cole, Trent Sieg

AJ Cole was the star of the specialist unit last season, as the undrafted free agent from NC State impressed Gruden in rookie mini camp, and took over punting duties from that moment on. Cole had the third longest punt in the league last season with a 74-yard boomer, and was in the top half of the league in yards per punt.

He might not be Shane Lechler reborn, but could be the Raiders punter for a very long time.

Daniel Carlson struggled in the back half of the season, but the Raiders have not brought in competition for him, so we can assume that he will be the placekicker Week 1. Perhaps if there was a preseason game we may have seen a kicker battle, but the Raiders chose to go with the player they know over a newbie.

Spare a thought for long snapper Trent Sieg, who probably rarely sees his name in print unless he makes a mistake or gets injured. The Raiders tend to hang on to long snappers they like and if Sieg is as reliable as his predecessor Jon Condo he can get comfortable in Las Vegas.
