2020 Las Vegas Raiders 53-man roster projection after training camp

Wide Receiver (5): Henry Ruggs III, Hunter Renfrow, Bryan Edwards, Nelson Agholor, Zay Jones

Previous roster predictions had the Raiders carrying six receivers on the active roster, but the recent decision to put Tyrell Williams on injured reserve will likely have them carry just five, with Bowden acting as another receiving option. The loss of Williams robs Carr of one of his better targets, but the Raiders have plenty of depth to step in, including rookie Bryan Edwards, who has been lighting it up in training camp.

There was much deliberation among Raider Nation about which of Nelson Agholor or Zay Jones the team would keep, but the Williams injury makes that decision a no-brainer. Gruden and Agholor go way back to the Tampa days where Agholor knew him as a high school player, and Jones attached himself to Carr’s hip all offseason to help boost his chances and it looks to have worked out that way for him.

Marcell Ateman and Rico Gafford are on the outside looking in and will likely find their way back to the practice squads, but thanks to the new rules may feature on the active roster more often. Both guys have shown they can contribute when called upon and they present new wrinkles to the offense with their size and speed, respectively.
