5 Las Vegas Raiders who should not have made the 2020 53-man roster

Kendal Vickers

Twas the night before cut-down day, when all through Raiders media, not single reporter mentioned Kendal Vickers as having a positive training camp. Of course, the front office has been tight lipped this off-season and aren’t keen on sharing information that could give opponents a competitive advantage.

Even if you take away the lack of reporting on Vicker’s development during camp, there are still question marks surrounding his role on this team.

First, Vickers is a 3-4 End playing in a 4-3 scheme. At 6-3′ 295lbs, he will need to play inside in the NFL. Maliek Collins has been crowned the difference maker and 3-Technique for the Raiders this season. And incumbent pass rushing specialist Maurice Hurst should be the first sub at that position.

So how does Vickers fit into this defense? It’s doubtful that he will supplant Hurst as a pass rusher, and the Raiders already have their run stoppers in Johnathan Hankins and Daniel Ross. Vickers will most likely be the first player cut when the Raiders need to make room on the roster.
