The AFC West will be on full display in Week 1, as two teams play in primetime, including the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs.

The 2020 NFL season is only a few days away, and the AFC West will be on full display right away, as the Kansas City Chiefs host the Houston Texans on Thursday night. All four teams get better in terms of talent this offseason, as the Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, and Los Angeles Chargers will look to try and unseat the Chiefs atop the division.

With that said, let us dive into our Week 1 predictions for the AFC West slate.

Houston Texans at Kansas City Chiefs (Thursday Night Football)

Last season, the Chiefs dominated the NFL landscape, pulling off a stunning comeback in the Super Bowl, and winning their first ring in 50 years. The team was led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who has dominated the league since being drafted and sitting behind Alex Smith for a season.

In 2020, the Chiefs return much of their team from that championship season, and they will make a statement against a tough Houston Texans team to kick off the season on Thursday Night Football. Houston has talent on both sides of the ball, especially at quarterback in Deshaun Watson, but this high-octane Chiefs offense will be too much to handle kicking off the league year.
