Las Vegas Raiders fantasy outlook: 2020 Week 1 Sit ‘Em or Start ‘Em

Quarterback

Derek Carr – Start Em

Carolina was 11th against the pass last year, and were actually one of the top pass rushers in the NFL despite their overall struggles as a team. They didn’t have a single player with double digit sacks but rather had a pass rush by committee approach. However, four of their top five sack artists are now on different teams, but they have been replaced by some potentially talented rookies.

The same can be said of their defensive back,s as many of their starters have been replaced by free agents and rookies, so the level of turnover is high on what was a poor overall defense. With all that being said, Derek Carr should be able to have a very nice day against this Carolina team.

Carr is coming in hot off a great training camp, and confidence is high thanks to the all of the talent around him, many of whom we will be discussing in the next few slides. The veteran quarterback was the 17th highest scoring fantasy quarterback in 2019, and that was with a carousel at the wide receiver position.

We can expect a big statistical season from Carr in his third season under Jon Gruden, and the added speed and talent at receiver should be a big help. Carolina is a rebuilding team and especially on defense so we predict a big day for Carr.
