Las Vegas Raiders X-Factors against the Carolina Panthers in Week 1

Defensive X-Factors Cory Littleton and Trayvon Mullen

Cory Littleton was brought into Las Vegas to be a fast linebacker with coverage ability that the Raiders have lacked for years. In the first week of the season, Littleton will be tested greatly against Carolina.

The Panthers throw the ball to the running back more than any team in the NFL, and Littleton will play a big part in keeping an eye on Christian McCaffrey out of the back field. Whether he is covering McCaffrey, or trying to make an open field tackle, Littleton will have to work for his pay check on Sunday.

Another player that will have to step up big time on Sunday is Trayvon Mullen. The Panthers have a number of solid wide receivers, but none as good as DJ Moore. Mullen will have his hands full covering Moore throughout the game, especially considering there is a rookie corner playing on the other side of the field.

Mullen will have to step up big time early this season, and I expect him to do so. The Raiders would not have moved on from Prince Amukamara and passed on signing big name corners such as Logan Ryan if they did not have so much faith in Mullen to lock down opposing teams WR1s.
