September 12th was an historic day in the NFL, as while the biggest contract for a running back was not handed out, but two premiere backs earned hefty paydays in succession. With a star running back of their own in Josh Jacobs, the Las Vegas Raiders have to start planning on when, and how much they plan to pay him for his continued service.
With the New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara signing a five-year, $75 million contraction extension, as well as Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook agreeing to a five-year, $63 million extension, it was a good day to be a running back, and makes a Raider fan wonder, what is the worth of Josh Jacobs.
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, we are all fully aware Jacobs has only played one season in the league, and anything can happen between now, and when it is time for him to get paid. Nevertheless, after a dazzling rookie season that saw Jacobs set the Raiders rooking rushing record in just the eighth game of the season, what is the value of Jacobs currently?
