Defense and Special Teams
Daniel Carlson – Start ‘Em
Daniel Carlson was the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after a great performance against the Carolina Panthers. Carlson was 4/4 on extra points and 2/2 on his field goals including a massive 54-yarder that gave the Raiders a 5 point lead early in the third quarter.
Carlson struggled at the end of 2019 but you can start him with confidence after a week like that, especially in the friendly confines of Allegiant Stadium where he won’t have to worry about kicking off a dirt infield.
Las Vegas Raiders Defense – Sit ‘Em
The Raiders defense had a rough start to 2019 after giving up 388 total yards to the Panthers and struggling to contain a great running back in Christian McCaffrey. Things don’t get much easier as the Saints come to town and a great back in his own right in Alvin Kamara will be looking to continue his hot start in Week 1.

Things are slightly easier if Michael Thomas misses the game with an ankle injury but the Saints have plenty of other weapons including former Raider Jared Cook and Emmanuel Sanders. The pass rush may hit paydirt more than they did against Teddy Bridgewater because Brees is a statue in the pocket at his age but that likely won’t be enough to outweigh the rest of the damage. Keep them on the waiver wire but keep an eye on them for a potentially juicy matchup down the line.
