New Orleans Saints at Las Vegas Raiders: 3 players to watch in Week 2

Cory Littleton

Cory Littleton was all over the field for the Raiders in Week 1, as he played every single defensive snap, and even mixed in some special teams. He was excellent in coverage, as he was targeted four times, and gave up just two receptions for 22 yards and recorded five tackles.

His role becomes even bigger in Week 2, as the Raiders will be looking to avoid a repeat of Christian McCaffrey’s performance by an equally dangerous running back in Alvin Kamara.

McCaffrey ran wild against the Raiders defense, and made a few plays in the passing game as well. There were possessions where he was matched up with LB Nicholas Morrow, and he drew a massive pass interference penalty on the veteran thanks to the mismatch. The Raiders signed Littleton for the express purpose of his coverage and playmaking ability, and he will need to be at his best against the Saints.

There will be more pressure on Littleton if fellow free agent arrival Nick Kwiatkoski is limited with an injured pec and Raider Nation should expect their big money signing to make an impact. The Saints are a familiar opponent, as he has faced them five times including the playoff,s and as a starter for three of those games. He didn’t register a turnover in any of those games but if he was to come up with an interception or forced fumble this would be a very opportune time to do so.
