Las Vegas moves to 2-0

The Raiders were given a formidable schedule early on before their Week 6 bye, and for Las Vegas to capitalize with a softer schedule to close the season they must hold their own right out the gate. Week 1 was a must-win and the Raiders came through, and against the Saints, they have a chance to get the upset win that could prove significant in the long term outlook of the season.

New Orleans is currently a six-point favorite over Las Vegas, but they will be without All-Pro receiver Michael Thomas and although they came away with a 34-20 victory over the Buccaneers, Drew Brees looked a bit more out of sync than usual. Perhaps its father time or other factors at play, but the Raiders’ debut of Allegiant Stadium, in primetime, could give some added incentive.

Never say never, and so long as the Raiders’ offense executes a strategic playcalling scheme from Jon Gruden and the defense makes stops when necessary, Las Vegas will emerge with a win and move to 2-0 on the season. The win will certainly start to raise the chatter in terms of this team being a playoff team in 2020.
