Las Vegas Raiders 2020 Week 2 review: Studs and Duds vs. New Orleans Saints
In the debut of Allegiant Stadium, the Las Vegas Raiders dominated the New Orleans Saints to move to 2-0. Here are the studs and duds from Monday night.
The bright lights and the memorial torch for Al Davis was lit as the Las Vegas Raiders debuted their brand new home of Allegiant Stadium. At kickoff there were still two things missing, Raider Nation going wild in the stands, and the Raiders ending the night with a victory.
There was nothing the Raiders could do about the fans not being allowed in but they made sure to wrap up Week 2 with a statement victory over the New Orleans Saints.
The game started off shaky as the Saints ran out to a 10-0 lead that lasted through the first quarter, but after the Raiders settled in and the nerves were gone, things turned around quickly. By the end of the first half, thanks to some dimes by Derek Carr and an interception of Drew Brees, the game was all tied up, though the Raiders had a great chance to go in to halftime leading.
The second half was much like the second quarter, as the Raiders controlled possession and wore down the Saints defense, and were it not for a Jalen Richard fumble, would have put away the game much earlier. Regardless of when the game was “over”, the Raiders were in control for the entire second half, and thanks to studs in every phase of the game, were able to move to 2-0 for the first time since 2017.
After this signature win for the Silver and Black, let’s dive in to the studs and duds from the Week 2 matchup with the Saints on Monday Night Football.
