Las Vegas Raiders at New England Patriots: 3 things to watch in Week 3

Cam Newton vs. the Raiders Front 7

Cam Newton is arguably the best running quarterback ever, and we may never see his combination of speed and size at the position ever again. He’s as big as a defensive lineman, and as quick as a tight end, and that’s going to present the biggest problem for this Raiders defense.

The Raiders saw Teddy Bridgewater break a couple of long runs in Week 1, and kept getting gashed by Alvin Kamara this past Monday against the Saints.  If the Raiders Front 7 can hold Newton to less than 50 rushing yards, that’s is the recipe to success this Sunday, but it is going to be hard to do with a banged up defense.

Nick Kwiatkoski looks to still be out this week, and it could be the week that the Raekwon McMillan trade pays off since he has been an ace at stopping the run so far in NFL career. Nicholas Morrow played well in Week 2 against the pass, but the Patriots are going to try and run it down the Raiders throats on Sunday.
