Las Vegas Raiders at New England Patriots: 3 Bold Predictions

Carr Outduels Newton

We saw an epic battle between Cam Newton and Russell Wilson this past week on Sunday night football where Newton and the Patriots came up just a few yards short of winning the game.

Then the next night, we saw Derek Carr outperform Drew Brees on Monday night football.

Now we have two quarterbacks coming off great individual performances meeting this Sunday, and I think Carr will carry last week’s performance into this week and put up more great numbers.

At the moment, Josh Jacobs is on the injury report and listed as questionable, so even if he does play, he may not be 100%. That will force the offense to rely more on Carr and the passing game, which proved its ability against a good Saints defense. The Patriots defense has some blue chips players, but they are still trying to fill the holes left by all the players who opted out of the season.

So to catch them early is precisely what Carr needs. 300 yards and multiple touchdowns will be required to beat a Patriot offense that looked great last week, and I think Carr does just that.
