Trayvon Mullen has looked the part of a CB1 for the Las Vegas Raiders this season, and he has a tall task ahead of him in Week 4.

During the 2019 NFL Draft, the then-Oakland Raiders made Trayvon Mullen their second round pick, this after selecting three times in Round 1. The pick of Mullen gave the Raiders their second member of the Clemson Tigers, as teammate Clelin Ferrell went No. 4 overall, serving as Mike Mayock’s first draft pick.

While Ferrell has not gotten out to a fast start to his NFL career, Mullen has, and on Sunday, he showed that he can get the job done against a tough offense. Mullen was all over the field, showing incredible coverage skills, and in a secondary that has been banged up, his production in Year 2 has been one of the bright spots so far this season.

Mullen draws a tough assignment in Week 4

The Raiders will take on one of the more prolific offenses in football this Sunday, as they welcome the Buffalo Bills to Allegiant Stadium. Buffalo had been trying to find a legitimate WR1 for quarterback Josh Allen, and they got one this offseason, as they traded for former Minnesota Vikings star Stefon Diggs.

Diggs is a huge part of what the Bills like to do on offense, and has at least six targets in every game this season. In Week 2, he was targeted 13 times, made eight catches, and racked up over 150 yards and a touchdown. I expect the Bills to try and get him that involved in Week 4 as well.

Through the first three games, Diggs has 13 first downs, and is averaging nearly 100 yards per contest, so Mullen needs to bring his “A” game if the Raiders are to have any chance on Sunday.

Mullen has been more than impressive, and has been targeted only ten times this season, allowing five catches. In total, the opposition has only 36 yards against him in 2020, and his coverage grade is over 92, so if there is anyone that can slow down Diggs on this roster, it is No. 27.
