Las Vegas Raiders offense stagnates, Buffalo Bills capitalize in 30-23 loss

Three Stars

Josh Allen

Buffalo jumped out to early momentum with Josh Allen leading the way from the starting drive. After going 5-for-6 on his first drive, Allen got into a rhythm early at the expense of the Raiders defense, throwing two touchdowns in the first half to Gabriel Davis and Cole Beasley. After a successful quarterback sneak to give him a rushing touchdown early in the fourth quarter, Allen finished the day with 24-of-34 completed passes for 288 yards and two passing touchdowns.

Stefon Diggs

Stefon Diggs may not have recorded a receiving touchdown on Sunday, but when Josh Allen looked his way the two connected with ease. Diggs finished with six catches for 115 yards as the Bills receiver took advantage of the Raiders’ lack of a pass rush up front, allowing Josh Allen the extra time to find his number one receiver.

Buffalo Bills Defense

At one point the score was 17-16 in favor of Buffalo, with the Bills defense able to keep the Raiders offense in check and giving Josh Allen and company the opportunity to capitalize. Buffalo’s defense kept Las Vegas’ primary weapon in Josh Jacobs from doing damage in the run game, while the Bills capitalized on turnovers, such as Darren Waller’s fumble, to build a comfortable lead in the fourth quarter. Ultimately, blunders by the Raiders allowed the Bills to capitalize for a 30-23 victory.
