2019 Free Agent signings

One of the highlights of the Raiders 2019 free agency class was safety Lamarcus Joyner, who was coming off a tremendous season with the Los Angeles Rams. This was a guy who was supposed to come in and hold down the slot corner position, an area that the Raiders had really struggled to produce in.

Well, Joyner had a terrible first season with the franchise, and the returns in 2020 have not been that stellar either. On Sunday, he was not only beat by wideouts, but he was struggling to even stay in the game, and had to be relieved by Amik Robertson. To say this has been an underwhelming signing would be an understatement.

The Raiders also signed Nevin Lawson in that free agency class, as well as linebacker Vontaze Burfict, and Josh Mauro, who has since gone on to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Lawson has not done much either for the Raiders, and after being suspended for most of the 2019 season, Burfict was not brought back for another go-around in 2020.
