Arrowhead Stadium has been a nightmare for Raiders QB Derek Carr

Raiders QB Derek Carr has struggled against the Kansas City Chiefs, but playing at Arrowhead has been a downright nightmare.
For Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr, Arrowhead Stadium has become a nightmare, and it has gotten worse in recent seasons. Over the last two years, Carr and his Raiders teammates have been outscored 75-12, and have not been competitive in any one of those games.
As they head to Kansas City for a Sunday matchup inside Arrowhead, the Raiders are reeling after losing two straight, while the Chiefs going into the game sitting at 4-0. Carr will need to exercise some demons if the Raiders are to come away with a victory, but a silver lining is where this matchup is landing on the schedule.
Playing in Kansas City early this year
If the game stays as scheduled, the Raiders will take on the Chiefs this Sunday, which would be the earliest Carr has ever played in Kansas City. In fact, Carr has never played Kansas City in Arrowhead earlier than Week 13 of the NFL season, and that was last season’s 40-9 drubbing at the hands of Mahomes and company.
Of course, every season is different, and through the first four games, Carr is playing some good football statistically. He has yet to throw an interception against eight touchdowns, and is once again completing better than 70 percent of his passes.
On Wednesday, his top wide receiver, Henry Ruggs III returned to practice, as did right tackle Trent Brown for a bit. Carr is going to need both of them healthy for this matchup, as the Chiefs defense has also been solid this season, and Ruggs is a guy who can take the lid off at any time.
In his third season in Jon Gruden’s offense, this may be the year that Carr can finally get it done in Arrowhead. If he can somehow will his team to a victory, they would head into their bye week at 3-2, and after a rough early-season schedule, and Raiders fan would be happy to have that.
