Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs: 3 Players to watch in Week 5

Defensive Line

You can pick and choose here who on the defensive line to be the player to watch, as it will need to be all hands on deck with the team down possibly two defensive tackles. Maurice Hurst was placed on the reserve/COVID list, and Maliek Collins missed practice on Thursday, a sign he may also be out on Sunday.

The pass rush has been an issue for the Raiders ever since the trade of All-Pro Khalil Mack, as there has not been a consistent rush since then. Maxx Crosby had a dynamic rookie season, racking up ten sacks, but outside of him, there is nothing to really be scared about in terms of the Raiders edge rushers.

The Raiders as whole average a minuscule one sack per game, and this is second to last in the entire league. Against one of the top quarterbacks in the league in Mahomes, these numbers will surely suggest a loss for the Raiders, because if he has all day to throw, the secondary is going to struggle.

Unless the Raiders change their lack of pressure and sacks in this department, Mahomes will have his way with the Raider defense. The thought is scary considering just how pathetic the pass rush ability of the Raiders has been, but it is something to keep an eye on.
