Las Vegas Raiders MVP and other awards after first quarter of 2020 season

Comeback Player of the Quarter – WR Nelson Agholor

Nelson Agholor signing with the Raiders was somewhat of an afterthought as the team signed big money free agents on defense and selected two rookie receivers in the early rounds of the draft. Agholor has quickly gone from afterthought to one of the more important players on the Raider offense.

The former Philadelphia Eagle Had become a punchline thanks to some tough drops in 2019 and a viral video but he has been extremely reliable for the Raiders so far. Pressed into duty thanks to injuries to the pair of rookie starters, Agholor has responded with some big catches and has drawn some major penalties to help set up scores.

Agholor is second among Raiders receivers in catches and yards and leads the team in receiving touchdowns. He is quickly developing a rapport with Derek Carr and his role is growing every week. Henry Ruggs appears to be back in the starting lineup but with the status of Bryan Edwards up in the air, Agholor should continue to have plenty of opportunities to continue his redemption tour with the Raiders.
