The Raiders have had ups and downs in the first five weeks of the NFL season, and they will have a chance to look back during the bye week and fix any issues.

The Las Vegas Raiders finished their first five games of the season with a 3-2 record, defeating three solid teams in the Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints, and Kansas City Chiefs. As exciting as those wins were, the Raiders have had some huge struggles on both sides of the ball that they could really work on during the bye week.

There is a lot the team could learn from their wins and losses, so let’s take a look at what five things the Raiders could improve upon during their bye week.

Getting healthy

One of the most important things in sports, especially competing at the highest level, is recovery. The two games the Raiders lost this season may have been a direct result of being riddled with injuries, so this extra week off should be key to the Raiders progression moving forward.

Clearly the Raiders need to make sure the players are taking advantage of resting and utilizing their training staff during this time, not only for the players who have been missing time, but for the players who have been playing through injury.

If the Raiders can get players like Richie Incognito, Damon Arnette, and Bryan Edwards back, the team will see a massive improvement in play and give themselves a better chance to win, but it is just important for players such as Josh Jacobs, Henry Ruggs, and Trent Brown to heal up and make sure they can continue to play at the level they did against the Chiefs moving forward.
