5 things the Las Vegas Raiders need to work on during bye week

Improve run defense/tackling

One thing that the Raiders have consistently struggled with since Paul Guenther has taken over as defensive coordinator has been tackling. The Raiders finally got the linebackers they wanted, they drafted cornerbacks who can tackle, and they have a better defensive line than they have in the past, but they still struggle to tackle and stop the run.

The Raiders rank in the bottom half of the league in run defense, allowing 126.8 rushing yards per game. They did a better job against Kansas City than in past weeks, but if the team wants to continue to improve and win big games, they are going to have to make a huge jump in their improvement of tackling.

Overall, this has been quite an exciting start to the 2020 season for Raider Nation, and with a softer schedule ahead, they are in position to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2016, and the second time since 2002. Remember, they played well early in 2019 as well before fading down the stretch, so getting healthy, and improving in these areas will be key if they want to continue to shock the NFL landscape.
