4 high-priced players the Raiders might move on from in 2021

Lamarcus Joyner, Defensive Back

Lamarcus Joyner was the big-name free agent signing of the 2019 offseason, coming to the Raiders after a standout season with the Los Angeles Rams. Joyner was expected to come in and play slot corner for the team after playing safety in L.A., and the move to a new position did not work out too well.

Joyner struggled mightily in his first season with the Raiders, having trouble tackling, and looking lost in coverage. This season, there have been moments where he has looked good, but he has been ineffective once again, and based on what the Raiders are paying him, he may be a guy on the chopping block next offseason.

The veteran will cost the Raiders $11.2 million if he remains on the roster for the 2021 NFL season, and would present only a $2.5 million dead cap hit if he is cut. Amik Robertson was brought in as a slot corner, and if he can grow into a player the Raiders can rely on, then Joyner may be seeing his last season in the Silver and Black.
