How the Las Vegas Raiders stack up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Defense

The Raiders defense is basically picking up where it left off last season, which is a disappointment. Las Vegas has been hit hard by the injury bug this season, but that still does not excuse the way this defense has played. The Raiders are allowing almost 400 yards per game, and allowing over 30 points per.

A lot can be said about this defense, and many criticize the play-calling of defensive coordinator Paul Guenther. This may or may not be the issue, but either way, something must change as the Raiders defense has been opposing team’s dream in upcoming match ups.

Now onto the Buccaneers and their defense. Wow, what opposites here. The Tampa Bay defense has been one of the best this season, and that is cause for concern for a Raiders team who saw their entire starting offensive line go on the COVID/reserve list all week.

They rank first in yards allowed at just over 280, and are second in the league in sacks at 22. The fact that right tackle Trent Brown is out for the Raiders this coming week is already scary considering this defense has been in the face of many this season.

The Bucs defense has been the only one who has stifled the talent of All-Pro quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and will look to do the same vs Derek Carr and the Raiders. So a very weak defense vs a very strong defense, for journalistic sake we have to pick a winner here even if it is very obvious. The clear edge is going to the Buccaneers.
