Defense and Special Teams

Daniel Carlson – Sit ‘Em

Unfortunately due to the current weather forecast for Sunday’s game we have to advise you to find another option at kicker in Week 8. Carlson has been lights out so far and had another solid game with two extra points and two field goals, including a 42-yarder, but he has not had to deal with bad weather.

If you think throwing the ball in 25mph winds is hard then imagine trying to kick a long field goal in those same conditions. Even extra points may not be a given on Sunday so if you have another option at kicker, then use it.

Las Vegas Raiders Defense – Sit ‘Em

Another week and another poor showing from the Las Vegas Raiders defense. This time the Raiders gave up 45 points to the Buccaneers to bring their season average to more than 32 points per game. The Raiders have not held an opponent to under 20 points all season and are getting shredded through the air.

The run defense has improved dramatically since Week 3 against New England but why run the ball against the Raiders when you can just pass against the 28th ranked defense? The only upside here is that it may be a wet and sloppy affair which could lead to lots of mistakes and turnovers for both offenses. If you’re desperate and need a streaming option then take a chance on the Raiders if the game looks like it will be played in the middle of a hurricane.
