Las Vegas Raiders entering crucial AFC West three-game stretch
Looking Ahead
This is the part of the season where the Raiders started to take off in 2019, as they won three straight after a 3-4 start. Of course, they erased an impressive start to the campaign by losing five of their last six games, failing to get over .500 once again, an watching their once promising playoff aspirations disappear.
With three straight AFC West games on the horizon, Las Vegas would like nothing more than to have another three-game winning streak, which would certainly turn some heads around the NFL.
Away against the Chargers
In what would be a “home” game if COVID-19 was not a thing, the Raiders will head to LaLa Land to take on the Chargers. It seems like every week the Chargers find a new way to lose, and this past weekend, they allowed division rival Denver to come all the way back and beat them 31-30.
Los Angeles is 2-5 on the season, but despite that, the Raiders are viewed as the underdog in the matchup. When all is said and done, I expect Las Vegas to take care of the rookie Justin Herbert and the Chargers, though they will certainly have to do a better job at making his life difficult up front along the defensive line.
Back home for two
From there, the team heads to Allegiant Stadium for two straight against the Broncos and the Chiefs. These will prove to be monster games for Las Vegas, as the Chiefs are once again one of the better teams in football, and the Broncos have to be flying high after beating the Chargers in Week 8.
Even if the Raiders finish this stint 2-1, they would be 6-4 on the season, and positioned to make a serious run to the playoffs.
If Las Vegas can take care of business over the next 20 days, they will position themselves well in terms of making the playoffs. After this stretch, they play the Atlanta Falcons and New York Jets in back-to-back weeks, two of the worst teams in football, so taking advantage of this part of the schedule is crucial.
