Las Vegas Raiders secondary could be at 100 percent for Chargers game

Damon Arnette possibly returning

Abram returning in Week 8 was a huge addition for the Raiders secondary, and they can get even stronger in Week 9 against the Chargers. Damon Arnette went to see another specialist this week, and if he is given a good diagnosis, he could be available for the Silver and Black this weekend.

Trayvon Mullen has already established himself as a legitimate CB1 at the NFL level, and Arnette was playing at a high level before he got hurt. He has not played since Week 3, but when he was in the lineup, he not only proved to be solid in coverage, but was not afraid to come up and make a big hit when needed.

With Arnette out, the Raiders have been using multiple cornerbacks, including Nevin Lawson, who proved to be a liability this past weekend against Cleveland.

The return of Arnette brings the Raiders defensive backfield back to 100 percent healthy, as the team tries to get their starters back on the field for what should be a run towards a playoff spot this season. Mike Mayock has utilized multiple early round picks on his secondary, and he has gotten great returns from Mullen and Abram, and the hope is that Arnette is a third he can build his defensive backfield around.
