Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers

In the only AFC West matchup on the slate in Week 9, the Las Vegas Raiders will head to SoFi Stadium to take on the Los Angeles Chargers. While the Raiders are underdogs in this game, the expectation here is that they can take care of business, especially after their big win on the road against Cleveland in Week 8.

Derek Carr is playing at a very high level, and on Sunday, he was able to lead an offense that relied heavily on the legs of Josh Jacobs. The second-year back out of Alabama carried the ball 31 times for 128 yards, showing why he was considered the front-runner to win the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year honor last season.

Last weekend, the Raiders actually got a good effort from their defense, who got Johnathan Abram back from the COVID list. He and the rest of the secondary will have a tough time against Justin Herbert, who has three 300-yard games this season, but in the end, they force him into making a crucial mistake as they move to 2-0 in the AFC West.

Prediction: Raiders 28, Chargers 21
