Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers: 3 bold predictions in Week 9
Raiders win in a blowout
The Raiders went from an underdog in Vegas, to an Even pick ’em, and for good reason. Sitting at 4-3, Las Vegas has been able to navigate a tough early season schedule, and are a better team than their opponent in Week 9.
Sure, the Chargers have an exciting young quarterback, but the Raiders have more weapons, a veteran quarterback, and a defense that is getting healthier. Carr should be able to have his way against this Chargers defense, and as we saw last weekend, if they have to lean on Josh Jacobs, he has no issues shouldering the load.
Los Angeles is still Raiders Country, and while there will be no fans in attendance, they will go into this game with incredible confidence. If Carr is on, and the defense plays the way they did in Week 8, this one could get out of hand.
AFC West games are usually close, but this Chargers team seems a bit snake-bitten in 2020, and if Jon Gruden can get out to a lead, he should keep his foot on the gas. He has a tendency to lay off once he feels the game is in hand, but as the team looks to make a statement as a true playoff contender, a blowout victory against the Chargers could be a real possibility.
