The first half of the 2020 season is over and we at Just Blog Baby name the MVP and other awards for the Las Vegas Raiders so far.

The Las Vegas Raiders have officially played half of their scheduled games in 2020 after beating the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 9 in one of the most dramatic endings you’ll ever see to a game. After eight games and a bye week, the Raiders are 5-3, in second place in the AFC West behind the 8-1 Kansas City Chiefs, and currently occupy the sixth seed in the AFC playoff picture. They have had one of the most difficult schedules in the league so far and on paper the schedule looks to get much easier through the end of the season.

Las Vegas owns the sixth seed as of now due to the superior conference win percentage over Cleveland, Indianapolis, and Miami who are all 5-3 as well. Oddly enough the Raiders will face all three of these opponents this year having already played and beaten the Browns in Week 8  so the tiebreakers could also come down to head to head records.

The Raiders have not been two games over .500 since Week 2 of the 2017 season and have a chance to go three games over .500 for the first time since Week 5 of the 2016 season with a win over the Denver Broncos on November 15th. They have reached this mark primarily through the play of their offense and with certain players coming back from injury later in the season that unit should only improve.

Before we look ahead to the rest of the season however, let’s look back at the players that stood out for the Las Vegas Raiders this season and hand out some mid-season awards.
