4 reasons the Las Vegas Raiders will beat the Denver Broncos in Week 10
The Broncos can’t stop the Raiders run game
The Broncos defense is good against the run when you just look at the simple rushing totals, as they have given up just 956 yards in eight games. They have, however, given up over 100 yards a game, and when they play top tier running backs like Derrick Henry and James Conner they have given up 100-yard games to them.
The Raiders have put a renewed emphasis on the run game thanks to their injuries along the offensive line, and most recently rushed for 160 yards against a Chargers defense that has given up even fewer yards on the ground than Denver. With the two-headed monster of Devontae Booker and Josh Jacobs beginning to emerge in the Raiders backfield, the task for Denver becomes even tougher as they will have to contend with deep threats and two dynamic running backs at the same time.
Denver is also giving up 4.3 yards per attempt, good enough for 15th in the NFL but is closer to 32nd than it is to number one. If the Raiders can get things going on the ground the way they did against LA then they should be able to control the clock and protect their subpar defense.
The last time Josh Jacobs faced the Broncos was in Week 1 of 2019, and he rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns and has improved dramatically since then. Booker will also have some extra motivation after spending the first four years of his career with the Broncos and Gruden will be more than happy to feed his new power back against his old team.
