2021 NFL Mock Draft: Las Vegas Raiders continue to bolster defense
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been one of the most inconsistent teams in the NFL this season, but one thing that has stayed consistent is their struggling cornerback play. If Shaun Wade slips this far into the draft, it would be a surprise to see the Bucs pass on him, filling the biggest void on their defense.
The Jets are trying to create a winning culture in New York, and what better way to do that then by pairing Trevor Lawrence with his college teammate, and best running back in the draft, Travis Ettiene. The team just released Le’Veon Bell, and will not be able to count on the ageless wonder Frank Gore after this year, so why not try and recreate one of the best offense in the country?
The Baltimore Ravens have a high powered offense, but they have visibly slowed down from last season. Lamar Jackson has not been able to produce like he did a year ago, and that could be in part because of his lack of weapons at wide receiver. DeVonta Smith from Alabama will be a receiver that makes an impact right away in the NFL, and would likely be the best receiver on the team.
The Buffalo Bills already have a great pass rush, ranking in the top ten in sacks, but why not try and make it even greater? The offense is already thriving without a lot of big names, so creating a defense that can stop even the best teams would be huge for the Bills. Patrick Jones II from Pitt takes the Bills pass rush to the next level, pushing them to the top-five in the league in that category.
