Las Vegas Raiders 2020 Week 10 review: Studs and Duds
The Duds Part 1
The Raiders pass catchers
The Raiders and Derek Carr were let down by their receivers and tight ends, as several players literally and figuratively dropped the ball on Sunday. The first culprit was Henry Ruggs, who had a step on CB Bryce Callahan as the Raiders were facing third down late in the first quarter, and let a perfect pass go right through his hands.
If Ruggs caught it would have been around midfield and as the fastest man on the field, had a chance to go the distance as the pass hit him in stride. That’s one possible touchdown taken off the board if we’re being nitpicky.
The second culprit was Nelson Agholor who dropped another perfect pass from Carr at the goal line and took another touchdown off the board to keep the Raiders from going up 14-6. Agholor is infamous for his drops on seemingly easy catches, and this was one of them, though he does make some incredibly tough catches from time to time.
The last culprit was Darren Waller, who was hit just about in stride by Carr in the third quarter but turned too quickly and didn’t focus on making the grab. The Raiders settled for a field goal on that drive and lead 13-6 but had the Raider receivers shown more concentration they could have easily been up 21-6.
Ultimately it didn’t matter on Sunday but that lack of focus won’t cut it against a better team.
