The Las Vegas Raiders will be looking for the season sweep against the Kansas City Chiefs when they host them on Sunday Night Football in Week 11.
Derek Carr and the Las Vegas Raiders are absolutely rolling right now, winning three straight, including two against AFC West opponents. They can make it four in a row, and three straight against the division on Sunday night, as they welcome the Kansas City Chiefs to Allegiant Stadium.
The Chiefs come into this game with one blemish on their record, an October 11th loss to the Raiders inside Arrowhead Stadium. Kansas City is also coming off a bye, a spot that head coach Andy Reid is notorious for pummeling teams after the week off.
Still, this rivalry has taken on new form this season due to the fact that the Raiders are actually challengers to the Chiefs in the division. Kansas City is the reigning Super Bowl champs, and a heavy favorite to get back to the big game this February, but the Silver and Black are no longer a team that is going to be an almost automatic win against them.
Las Vegas can run the ball, are improving on defense, and Carr is playing at an MVP level in his third season in Jon Gruden’s offense. Kansas City is explosive, but this one is going to be an intense battle inside the Death Star.
Here is a look back at the rivalry between these two franchises.
