Las Vegas Raiders looking for season sweep of Kansas City Sunday night

Recent History

The then-Oakland Raiders kicked off the 2010s in style against the Chiefs, winning five of the first six matchups, but Kansas City has owned the rivalry ever since. Whether it was Alex Smith or Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs dominated the Silver and Black, going 12-2 from the 2013 season on, sweeping the Raiders five times.

However, the dawning of a new decade brought the Raiders a stunning victory a month ago, as they went into Kansas City and beat Mahomes and the Chiefs high-powered offense. The win was a crucial one for not only the franchise, but for their franchise quarterback, as Derek Carr has been criticized for not being able to not only beat the Chiefs, but to beat them on the road.

On Sunday night, the now-Las Vegas Raiders will look to sweep the Chiefs for the first time since the 2012 season, and they certainly have the roster to do so. With a dominant run game that can keep Mahomes on the sideline, Las Vegas will have to lean on the likes of Josh Jacobs and Devontae Booker if they want to close out Week 11 sitting at 4-0 in the division.

It has been a long time since Raider Nation felt comfortable playing the Chiefs, and feeling like they have a legitimate shot to beat them. Sure, Mahomes is the best quarterback in the league, and the team is loaded with talent, but so is Las Vegas, and they have already proven they can beat the Chiefs this decade.
