Las Vegas Raiders are opening a lot of eyes in 2020

Questions with Matt Conner, site expert at Arrowhead Addict

We continued our conversation about the rivalry, the confidence of the Chiefs, and his prediction in Week 11.

JBB: Do you feel the rivalry is renewed?

I think everyone in Kansas City feels the victory lap thing was ridiculous, and showed the rivalry is not renewed just yet. The Chargers took the Chiefs to overtime and the Panthers *could* have won on a last-second field goal, and no one is pretending they’re going to be competitive anytime soon.

Conner: However, I think another very close game, even if it’s a loss for the Raiders, would go a long way to engender some real belief on the part of Chiefs Kingdom.

JBB: What is the Chiefs confidence level heading into this matchup?

Conner: Still very high. They’re motivated. They have bulletin board material. They’re coming off the bye. They have something to “avenge.” There’s a lot here for them to play for, primarily the No. 1 seed in the AFC which brings the rare first round bye. The Chiefs are all in.

JBB: Prediction for the game

Conner: I think a win is the primary goal with a dollop of embarrassment if the opportunity is there. Chiefs by 20.

In order for the Raiders to pull this one out, they are going to need the defense to continue to trend in the right direction, though the unit will be without Clelin Ferrell. Las Vegas has the weapons on offense to score with anybody, and Derek Carr is in the middle of one of his best seasons as a pro, but only time will tell if the Raiders have really narrowed the gap between them and the Chiefs.
