Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders: 3 things we learned in Week 11

The Raiders offense is Elite with a capital “E”

We knew the Raiders offense was good coming in, but it was great to see it validated on the national stage in such a dominant fashion. The Chiefs don’t have a great defense to be fair, but they have held some good offenses like Baltimore, Buffalo and LA to 20 points or less and they have some playmakers that can make a difference in close games.

On Sunday night, they looked just about as futile as the Raiders defense as the Silver and Black marched up and down the field and scored nearly at will. The Raiders offense stalled primarily because of their own mistakes and not because of anything Kansas City did which is impressive in its own twisted way.

Since the wind bowl in Cleveland, the Raiders offense is averaging 33 points per game and is doing everything it can to take the poor defense out of the equation. They are gashing opponents with a combination of a powerful running game, downfield shots, and a QB that is not scared to make big plays with his arm and his legs.

According to Football Outsider’s DVOA stats, the Raider offense is 9th overall in the NFL, 7th in the pass game, and 12th in the rush game. In terms of more raw numbers, they are 14th in yards per game but way more importantly they are 8th in points per game and that’s what matters most.

Next. Las Vegas Raiders: Quarterback Derek Carr is on a ‘mission’. dark

This 2020 offense is Jon Gruden’s vision come to life and that’s without a dominant outside receiver and little contributions from their two high draft pick rookie receivers. If the Raiders are going to make the playoffs and maybe make some noise if they get in, it will be because of this offense that can hurt opponents in a multitude of ways. They are a special unit that is also a lot of fun to watch and that alone is a noteworthy achievement.
