The Las Vegas Raiders claimed Takk McKinley off waivers and signed Vic Beasley to the practice squad, what do these veterans bring to the team?

The Las Vegas Raiders have been looking for a dominant pass rusher for years since the Khalil Mack trade and the search continues to this day. They have a solid one in Maxx Crosby who is on track to have double digit sacks for the second straight season but he can’t shoulder that weight alone. So in their latest hunt for a complement to Crosby, the Raiders claimed Takk McKinley off waivers and signed Vic Beasley to the practice squad.

Both Beasley and McKinley are former Atlanta Falcons and perhaps it’s a coincidence that the Raiders play Atlanta this week but the more likely reason for their addition to the team is they are intriguing pass rushers to a team that desperately needs help in that department. The Raiders have struggled to generate any kind of consistent pass rush since the Mack trade and have shuffled through defensive ends like a deck of cards trying to find a spark.

With the addition of McKinley and Beasley, there are no guarantees that they would improve the pass rush or make any sort of impact but let’s explore what these two veterans could bring to the Raiders. If they can make even one impact play each it may be worth the investment for a Raider defense that needs playmakers.
